Following the successful VCSE  Planning Day on the 7th October, The Healthy Communities Together  (Healthy Communities Together Gloucestershire (hctgloucestershire.co.uk) Stewardship Group are hosting a VCSE event to continue the conversation about how we create the conditions for greater trust between VCSE, Health and Local Government to deliver better outcomes and fairer health for people in Gloucestershire.

We know that only by working together differently we will be able to deal with the pressures many organisations are experiencing at the moment. The impact of the pandemic has brought into sharp relief the need to build the capacity and maintain the wellbeing of people contributing in civil society, especially the VCSE sector, which provides services and has a vision for enhancing and adding value in those communities. We think that building capacity in this context means developing and strengthening the skills, confidence, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that people in organisations and communities need to survive, adapt, create and thrive in a fast changing world.  The event will be an opportunity to come together and explore these challenges head on and consider how the HCT programme can help build this capacity in the VCSE and Civil Society organisations.

The event will take the form of a series of workshop conversations exploring for example:

  • How could we use our County infrastructure to grow capacity?
  • How do we maintain the wellbeing of people contributing in civil society and the VCSE sectors?
  • How do we invest in supporting governance that is agile and purposeful?
  • What would help grow and deepen trust between the VCSE/Civil Society, Health and Local Government so we can use our collective resources better to support individuals and communities through the winter period

Come and join us on 22 November 2022 from 10.00 – 1.00pm  at Churchdown Community Centre followed by lunch and networking
